Dress Rehearsals

Our next rehearsal will be this coming Sunday 22 January at 12pm in the hall.

It will be out first dress rehearsal, but we will begin by dedicating the first hour to reviewing the musical numbers with the band.

After, we will have at least one full run in costumes with the sets in place. If we can release the chorus early (by 4pm) we will but we have a lot to cover and only two rehearsals left before we have an audience.

Sadly, we have had to reschedule our final dress rehearsal to Monday evening  23 January at 6:30 pm due to a double booking of the hall on the Wednesday. If this causes a scheduling problem for anyone. Please let me know ASAP.

Please make sure that you come in your base costume (see below). Additional costume pieces will be provided. TADDS will also be providing makeup for performances. If you have special makeup needs (sensitive skin, allergies etc.) now is the time to let us know so that we can make sure we have what we need to accommodate.

Base Costumes

For Economize Crew: black trousers, soft soled black shoes and a long sleeve black top

For Droids: joggers and long sleeve t-shirt (these should be plain, but I’m interested to see what colors you have and/or what fits with your character), black soft sole shoes

If any of this is not something you currently own or is difficult to acquire, please let us know as we do have access to some stock and charity shop finds. I’ve also been told that there are affordable options for plimsoll shoes at Tesco (I think? Somebody correct me if I’m wrong on that). I found some on Amazon 🫣 for £6

Our performances are Thursday 26 Jan at 7pm, Friday 27 Jan at 7pm and Saturday 28 Jan at 2:30pm

Call times for evening performances are 6:30pm, 2pm for the matinee. If you weren’t able to get your tickets from Kathleen on Sunday, they are available from Lorna at the post office and will also be available at the door. Anyone who wishes to make a donation to the raffle can bring that along either Sunday or Monday.

We are all getting very excited now and I know some of you are also feeling a bit nervous. Of course if you have any questions please do let me know. I will endeavor to respond as quickly as possible.

xoxo

Rehearsal 18 Dec Run Acts 1 & 2 (off book)

 Hello folks.

This is an all hands call as it is our last before the holiday break. Much of January will be spent integrating musicians and technical aspects, so this weeks rehearsal is going to be about smoothing out the rhythm of the show.

Bring your scripts, but leave them off stage as you should all be ready to take the plunge. Rowena will be on prompt and you should feel free to call “line” as often as you need.

1-5pm Full Cast

Your homework over the holidays will be getting yourself confident in your script and blocking. We will not be holding rehearsal again until January 8th in the hall so this means grabbing a family member to quiz you on your lines, listening to the music on Spotify and visualizing your blocking and choreography as you run through your part.

You should now know where you need to be for the whole show and if you don’t, this weeks rehearsal is the time to ask questions. Don’t wait until dress rehearsal to realize you’re missing something. Let us help you with that before we break for the holiday.

Costumes: Chorus & Droids

We’re asking all of you to provide a basic foundation costumes

Chorus: Black Trousers, Black Long Sleeve t-shirt, black soft sole shoes

Droids: joggers and long sleeve t-shirt (these should be plain, but I’m interested to see what colors you have and/or what fits with your character), black soft sole shoes

If any of this is not something you currently own or is difficult to acquire, please let us know as we do have access to some stock and charity shop finds. I’ve also been told that there are affordable options for plimsoll shoes at Tesco (I think? Somebody correct me if I’m wrong on that)

You guys are all doing such a great job! Thank you for making me laugh every week.

xoxo

Beth

Music Rehearsal and Work through 11 Dec

 We have live musicians!

This week's rehearsal, we are here for them but that makes your full participation no less important.

We are so grateful that we get to have live accompaniment as it will make our job so much easier when we get onstage, but to get there we need to take some time this week to give them the opportunity to dig into their role and give you the opportunity to get used to the new sound.

Run Through Act I - 24 Nov

Hey folks, sorry for the late notice again, worlds collide in busy-ness this time of year and I'm so grateful you all are sticking with us.

As I mentioned last week, we're going to be running Act I this weekend. We'll start with a Full Company call at 1pm, run Act I, hopefully more than once, then break out into whatever scenes need a little TLC at this point. We do need the chorus to be focused and present for this as their role become crucial moving from scene to scene.

You all are doing great working your way off book, but for this weekend I would like to have everyone to keep their scripts handy to note any adjustments that come up in the run. We will have someone on prompt, but this run through isn't about you knowing your lines, its about getting a feel for the flow of action.

See you Sunday!

4pm Release chorus

Rehearsal 20 November

Thank you all for understanding my need for a week off last week.

I hope you enjoyed your Vivienne and Rowena intensive 😉

This week we’d like to start working off book on the scenes where we have the lines as much as possible with the intention for everyone to be off book by next weekend.

Things are coming together and all of the scenes/songs we are running this week have been covered at lease two times before this so nows the time to lock in all that good “business” that we’ve been cultivating.

I know that many of you have a commitment and will need to leave by 4pm so I have scheduled accordingly to the best of my ability. I wish all of you performing in the Winter Festival a rousing "break a leg"

Call times for Sunday are as follows:

1pm - Alan, Anna, Claire

1:30pm - add Carol, Ceasg, Lucinda & Raghnailt

2pm - add Full company

3:15pm - release Sorcha, Oona, Calum

3:45pm - release Ailsa

4:15pm - Release Chorus

4:30pm - release Alan, Anna, Lucinda, Carol & Ceasg

4:45pm - release Claire

Missed you all and looking forward to seeing you Sunday!

xoxo Beth
